Between 2 and 6 March 2026, Fórum Civil – Civil Engineering Students’ Association of Instituto Superior Técnico organised the 13th Civil Engineering Days, an initiative that once again brought together students, companies and professionals from the sector through a diverse programme of activities.
This year’s edition stood out for the scale and diversity of its programme, which included around 40 activities, such as 10 technical visits, 12 workshops and 10 conferences, providing students with valuable opportunities to engage directly with the professional world and with different areas of civil engineering.
In terms of corporate participation, the event also recorded significant growth. A total of 67 companies took part, representing an increase of around 10% compared to the previous edition, further reinforcing industry interest in this meeting point between academia and the professional sector.
This edition was also marked by several new initiatives. For the first time, the Civil Engineering Days officially opened participation to Civil Engineering students from across the country, welcoming students from the University of Minho and the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL).
The event concluded with a closing session at the auditorium of the Portuguese Engineers Association – Southern Region, attended by around 200 participants and featuring a stand-up comedy performance by Guilherme Geirinhas.
Another key highlight of this edition was the launch of three scholarships, each worth €1,000, aimed at Civil Engineering students: a Merit Scholarship, a Social Support Scholarship, and a Mobility Scholarship. This initiative was made possible by the success of the event and the support gathered through the Civil Engineering Days, reinforcing Fórum Civil’s commitment to supporting students and promoting academic achievement.
With increasing participation from companies, a continuously expanding programme and strong engagement from the academic community, the Civil Engineering Days have established themselves as one of the leading academic events in Civil Engineering in Portugal, serving as a key platform connecting students, academia and industry.
