Professor and Architect Pedro Domingos, a lecturer in the Scientific Area of Architecture at DECivil, has been awarded the 2024 AICA Architecture Award.
This award, presented by the Portuguese Section of the International Association of Art Critics since 1981, annually recognises outstanding careers in the fields of Visual Arts and Architecture, and is awarded in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport and the Millennium bcp Foundation.
The jury distinguished two works by Pedro Domingos completed in 2024: a house in Bordeira and another in Colmeal, in the Algarve. It also recognised a career marked by formal rigour, constructive clarity and a thoughtful dialogue with the territory. Furthermore, it highlighted how his work — ranging from domestic scale to public facilities and collective housing projects — affirms the social and urban relevance of architecture.
